2014 Tour de Ranch Photos

The 2014 Tour de Ranch was a huge success. Riders were eager to enjoy some quality time on their bikes and warm weather after a record breaking cold winter. The day started off with a layer of fog that quickly burned offed by late morning. Each fondo route had a sizable pack of riders with the Paul Brannon Epic Dirty Fondo being the first to leave the start. Although riders were not chipped timed there were some fast times being posted with the a group of Dirty Fondo riders finishing the course in a blazing fast 3:10. The Grand and Medio Fondo had several groups of riders in each pushing a fast pace the entire route. After a hard day out on the bike cyclists enjoyed some good food and BBQ sandwiches.

Hammer Down wanted to all the cyclists that came out to enjoy the 2014 Tour de Ranch.

Finish Times and Photos for the 2013 Tour de Ranch Grand Fondo

Fred McLaughlin and Ethan Smith climbing Orange Hill in the 2013 Tour de Ranch.

Fred McLaughlin and Ethan Smith climbing Orange Hill in the 2013 Tour de Ranch.

The 2013 edition of the Tour de Ranch was fantastic. The day started off with massive storm clouds to the north and south that threatened to make it a soggy day. Fortunately, mother nature cooperated and ended up being an amazing spring day of riding the rolling hills of Northwest Florida. Below you will find the finish times and photos for the Tour de Ranch.

New for 2013 was the addition of a 64 mile dirt ride called the Dirty Fondo. We had a great turn out and everyone had an excellent time riding the new course. Overall we had a fantastic turnout for the Piccolo Fondo, Medio Fondo, Grand Fondo and Dirty Fondo. This was the second year Hammer Down has hosted this event over its long 17 year history. We have some great ideas for 2014 and will continue to grow this to be a premier endurance cycling event in the South East.

Special thanks to our sponsors: Big Daddy’s Bike Shop, Freedom Sports, Acentria, Dee’s Restaurant, Warrior Race Timing and Power Bar. Additionally, we would like to thank all of the volunteers that stepped up and dedicated their valuable time to help make this event a success. Thank You!

Tour de Ranch Finish Times for the Grand, Medio, Piccolo, and Dirty Fondo

Tonya Blocker was the fastest female finisher coming in at 5:37.

The Medio Fondo had a John Hensz and Travis Dorman finish the 62 Miles in 2:40 or 23.25mph and AnnMarie O’Maley finish in 3:37.

The Dirty Fondo had a pack of 3 riders Robin Wilkes, Steve Donchey and Tim Kalvetal coming in at 3:29 and this included a 5 mile course correction due to some new trails being blazed. Top female finisher was Jenifer Talley with a time of 4:12.

2013 King and Queen of Strava on Orange Hill – If you recorded your ride on your Garmin device you can upload your ride to Strava.com for free and compare your ascent time up Orange Hill. The current King of Strava is John Hensz with Hammer Down climbing up in 1:51 or 17.9mph. The current Queen of Strava is Amanda Sulzberger.

Thank you everyone for making this a great event and we look forward to seeing you in 2014!!
